This year, perhaps more than any other year I can recall, I found customers were just a little late to get some of the items they really needed and wanted. Once again we sold out of Inground pool installation dates relatively early. When that happens it also means we start booking up fairly early. This same situation seems to arise with liner rehangs. Customers are often conflicted about when to do this type of work, but I would encourage you to do it whenever you really feel it is needed. If you want to have something replaced in a timely fashion you have to stay ahead of the curve. Some customers are very proactive and get their orders in early to be able to open their pool as soon as possible to maximize their swim season. Others order a liner in May and are frustrated that the liner can’t be in before the big Memorial Day party. Safety covers often take a long time when people need them most because everyone is trying to get their cover replaced during the busiest time of year.
My main point is to say planning ahead can help you accomplish what you need and when you need it. I understand the desire to try to get the best possible deal and that thought is often accompanied by the idea that things are cheapest for pools in the off season. The reality is that is the most likely time for a manufacturer to increase pricing and I can’t tell you the last time a manufacturer actually dropped a price. So, like I said, there is no time like the present to get what you need and what you want. When you open the pool, consider changing the cover then so it is ready for the winter. If the liner can limp you through until next year, but you know you will be replacing it in the spring, consider going ahead and taking care of it in the fall. The demand and service availability are likely to work in your favor. Call us and we can get you the help you need.
