January Furniture Shopping
Shopping for Outdoor Furniture…in January?
Am I nuts?
As I write, the temperature is crashing into the mid-20’s and the wind is howling, dropping wind chill into the low ‘teens. And it’s going to get worse. So why would I dare suggest that this is a suitable time to purchase outdoor furniture? Start with the premise that you are going to need it for the warmer days that are ahead. That leads me to my five reasons why buying now is a great idea.
1. Get the deals!
They’re all over Eastgate Pools in January, but they’re especially sweet in the outdoor and sunroom furniture department. First, there’s closeouts, demos, and limited quantity items left over from 2025. Which directly affects new product that has either made its way to the floor or soon will when we find space for it. It’s hard to sell something that’s still boxed up in our warehouse. Which leads to reason number two.
2. Best selection of the year.
It’s simple: We’ve been receiving our 2026 inventory for several months and will continue to do so. But right now, our selection for the year is incredibly strong with almost everything in stock. But if you stop in and don’t find something that strikes your fancy, give it a couple of weeks. Closeouts from 2025 will sell out and even more new products will hit the floor. The same goes for February as inventory continues to come out of forced hibernation as floor space clears.
3. We’re hungry for sales.
During spring and summer months, customers are throwing their money at us. Figuratively. They’ve found what they want, and they want to use it the next day unless they can get it right then. In the winter months…not so much. A huge incentive for buying during the winter is the deal. As such, our prices will likely never be lower than now! I guess it’s possible that an item finds its way to a closeout or limited quantity status at the end of 2026. You could get it then for use in 2027, but that doesn’t help this year. Just continue to use those folding plastic chairs another year.
4. Buy now, pick up or have it delivered later.
We’d really like to create space in our warehouse, but we realize your garage might be just as packed. As such, once you buy, we can keep your furniture safe and secure in our warehouse. Just give us a few days’ advance notice of when you want to pick it up. And if you selected our assembly or delivery notice, we might need an extra couple of days for prep and scheduling. Ask your product specialist for more information about these programs. And note that on previously assembled demos or closeouts we may not be able to hold them for more than a few days. Again, please consult the product specialist.
5. The Cabin Fever Syndrome.
If you’re like me, you’re itching to get outside and do some fun things. And if you can’t actually do them, you can at least plan for when you can. Earlier this week when the temperature crept into the fifties, I did a few hours of prep work for my raised bed garden. I repaired some older beds and built a new one. I could have waited weeks…even months to do the work. After all, I won’t plant until May. But I needed to do something that promoted the idea of warm weather returning. You can do the same thing when shopping for outdoor furniture at Eastgate Pools.
In conclusion.
Another wonderful thing to do during the frigid winter months is to travel. I recommend jumping into your car and traveling to Eastgate Pools & Spas. It may not be the Caribbean or sunny Florida, but it might get you a headstart on warmer days.
