In this three-word phrase used to start a race, the third word is Go. The phrase can also be applied to planning for the 2025 outdoor fun season. This would be when we happily move from the cabin-feverish confines of the Indoors to the action-packed Great Outdoors. For many, the opportunity is right in front of them, just waiting to be grabbed. This will be the year they finally get that special thing that will enhance the family’s outdoor experience. Translated: More fun in the backyard! The planning is already in high speed. They’re going to be ready to buy when the calendar says it’s Summer. Okay…maybe late-Spring, as long as it’s warm.

Honestly, this is a not-so-good plan. This isn’t just the time to plan. It’s the time to seize the opportunity. Let’s look at our top four major product categories and explain exactly why.

Swimming Pools.

Let’s start with above-grounds and our hybrid Sensation pools. We sell a lot of these. I mean A LOT! Most come with a professional installation package. While weather and yard conditions sometimes affect the installation schedule, we try to go first-bought, first built. We don’t hire people off the street that claim they know how to do the job. We have an established installation team that has been building our pools for over two decades. As such, we can get backed up. When a customer decides to buy a pool on June 1st, they’re shocked with an estimated install of post-July 4th. It doesn’t always take this long to schedule, but it can. By buying now, when the weather breaks this spring, you’ll get your pool months before the procrastinators.

The timing for contracting that dream in-ground is even more crucial. An above-ground is normally installed in one day. A hybrid may take a little longer, but not much. On the other hand, an in-ground has multiple inspection requirements, and this can cause a much longer timeframe as we wade through the bureaucracy. Add in concrete company delivery and weather delays and you have a project that could extend to several weeks. And to assure a great pool, we only use one excavator and one installation team. With all these considerations, a homeowner that decides to contract on June 1st may not have their pool finished until the leaves are changing color. In some years, we completely run out of available installation dates. That pool may get shuttled to the next year’s schedule. In the case of an in-ground pool, the early bird does indeed get the worm.

Outdoor Furniture.

I understand that when the thermometer drops down into the teens, sitting outside isn’t your favorite way to relax. But there are numerous reasons to get that furniture set now. Here are some points worth considering:

With most of our 2025 orders received, we’re loaded with selection. And if we don’t have exactly what you want, we can order it. You’ll have it when you need it.

Pre-season pricing is usually the lowest of the year, with the possible exception of late-season clearance sales. And that deal depends on if what you want is still in stock. Plus, even if it is, you’ll have missed out on the entire season.

For those that missed last year’s outdoor season, they’re scrambling to be ready for 2025. They’re gobbling up last season’s closeouts and demos. Some will see the new year’s product line and go that route instead. We will undoubtedly sell out of some hot groupings and prized individual pieces before spring officially arrives.

Hot Tubs/Spas.

Whichever name you prefer, know that there really is no off-season for hot tubs. But winter is still our slowest season overall, so pricing is very advantageous for the buyer right now. Plus, we have a selection of Factory Warehouse Specials that are guaranteed to save you some serious money. But when they are gone, they are gone.

Personally, I think winter is a great time to climb into a hot tub. Snow and cold don’t scare me off, and there’s nothing like watching the steam rise. I rub my fingers through what’s left of my hair and feel a little ice but am still as warm as can be. It’s extremely cool. Neat, that is.

Yet, there are some people out there that prefer warmer weather for their tubbing sessions. That’s okay, too. Come pick out your tub now. With a deposit we can hold it for several weeks, possibly months, until you are ready to accept delivery. Buying now secures your choice at what’s likely the lowest price of the year and you don’t have to take immediate delivery. What’s not to like about that deal?

Big Green Egg Grills.

I’ll admit it. When the temperature dropped into the teens, I didn’t grill. But when it popped into the fifties and sixties right after Christmas, I was at it every day. I’m checking the Weather Channel advanced forecast for the next warming trend. I enjoy grilling, but I like the taste of the food even better.
